What will kids achieve during beginner kickboxing lessons?

Our kids beginner kickboxing classes focus on developing:

  • Practical Self-Defense Skills
  • Confidence
  • Anti-Bullying Strategies
  • Self-Discipline
  • Fitness
  • Respect

How does the program work?

First and foremost, the atmosphere we create for all youth kickboxing classes is fun, yet disciplined. Our classes get kids to put down screens and video games in favor of an environment that will build them both physically and mentally. Throughout our step-by-step curriculum, we teach kickboxing techniques with a strong emphasis on technical excellence. We then combine these techniques into highly effective kickboxing combinations, using heavy bags as targets.

Our classes are designed to give kids the repetition they need to develop proficiency, power, fitness and confidence in their growing skills. In all of our beginner classes, there is no sparring. Students use targets such as heavy bags to develop their fundamentals.

Our expert instructors make sure your child receives the individual attention they need to develop effective kickboxing technique; blending the styles of Muay Thai, Boxing and Karate into a safe, yet action-packed class that your child will absolutely love. Our high-energy yet disciplined atmosphere gives kids an amazing total body workout, all while teaching invaluable life-lessons on perseverance, respect, focus and character development.

5 to 12. Typically, kids will begin transitioning to training with other young teens in the adult classes by the age of 12.

Yes. Safety is always our primary concern in every kid or adult class.

The style of Kickboxing we teach at Union Martial Arts is a modern blend of Muay Thai and Boxing, with a focus on self-defense and Mixed Martial Arts applications. Karate is a more traditional striking art, which often includes practices such as “kata”, which we do not do. While we draw on some of the roots of Karate in our kids kickboxing classes, our style would be considered modern Kickboxing.

Absolutely, yes. Martial arts training builds cardio, strength and flexibility like nothing else.
