Caitlin Neiduski2024-12-11We cannot say enough great things about Union Martial Arts! Our son has been training in kickboxing and jujitsu for roughly 8 months and has come so far in skill, discipline, and understanding his body. The coaches are thoughtful, attentive, and know when to be serious and when to have some fun. The facility is large, incredibly clean and very family friendly. We got lucky stumbling upon this place and are so happy we did. All in all, great community, wonderful coaches, incredible skills in teaching and lots of fun!
Frank Acker2024-12-10Both coach Nolan and coach Kon are true professors at their crafts. My 10 year old son started 9 months ago. With both coaches training, instruction and guidance have built his abilities, desire to learn and confidence immeasurably. Their approach with the children's understanding of the sciences behind the skills and techniques they're learning as well safety being a key to each one's success is beyond what any parent could hope for and desire in their roles. These two gentlemen as well answer any questions you might have as a parent. They are welcoming to everyone who steps into their classroom. They are true leaders I highly recommended to anyone thinking about coming to try the free week out and become a student and part of the team.
A Clem2024-12-10My daughter and I both train here. No matter if you want to lose a few pounds, a way to stay active or become the next UFC superstar this is the gym for you. Great coaches that are always willing to help or work with you and your training needs. Can't recommend this place enough. I called many places in and around Indian Trail before settling on this gym and I'm very happy I did. Coach Nolan probably spoke with me for 30 minutes on the phone before I ever walked thru the doors. Breaking down his gym and core values making sure they aligned with mine and what I want for my daughter. If you're on the fence or looking for a gym, you found it. Come on in.
Ricky Young2024-12-09I love coming to this gym. Coach Nolan and Coach Khan are always keeping drills and combos fresh. Everyone at the gym is very friendly. Its a great place to train for all different skill levels.
Patrick McPherson2024-12-02Incredible coaches who have cultivated a really positive culture in their gym. You'll find the students are just as willing to help as the coaches themselves. Would heartily recommend to anyone considering it. I'd also add that the instructors offer more than just technical proficiency in martial arts. These are upstanding, optimistic, encouraging people who really bring the best out of you.
Marc Pooler2024-11-10I love Union Martial Arts for several reasons. First, as a family of five, I was pleased to hear about their family plan that allows my three kids along with my wife and I to train. It’s a wonderful deal. They offer lots of different experience levels so everyone gets what they need. Most important, however, is the leadership of Coach Nolan and Coach Kon. Not only are these two men dedicated to the craft, but dedicated teachers. They earned my utmost respect during my first session. With each martial art lesson, the coaches interweave a life lesson as well and I often hear my kids chewing on them throughout the week. If you are looking for a place, stop. This is it.
Christina Pooler2024-11-09My first experience with Union Martial Arts was as a parent bringing my younger children to kickboxing classes. They have been involved in many sports and even other martial arts, but grew tired of each of them. Union Martial Arts is the first activity that they were always begging us to go to more often! Their love for it encouraged us to ask our teenager to give it a try as well. His agreement was conditional, he wanted my husband and I to join him in the adult class. Although hesitant, I agreed and it only took one class for me to realize I had found something that I enjoyed and it made me feel great. It’s an excellent workout as well as a great way to relieve stress! Coach Nolan’s positivity and patience is what keeps us all going back! He is truly compassionate and caring and has built confidence in each of us as we learn. The classes are fun, challenging, and a great workout; I highly recommend you give it a try!
Маша Ульянова2024-11-09We absolutely love this place! Gorgeous coaches and great staff!
Alejandro Rosario2024-11-09I don’t even know where to begin, well mostly I’ve always wanted to train some sort of martial art growing up, but couldn’t do it due to some things always going on in life, but this year I made up my mind and started looking for places where I could go and start learning, I went to a lot of different gyms, but none of those felt as welcoming and comfortable, than Union Martial Arts. Coach Nolan, and Coach Kon are the best, they inspire and push everyone to be their very best versions, and will make sure to take their time with you, if you’re ever looking to go to a gym and learn something new, get into self defense, become a fighter, or just to get a workout in, then UMA is the place to be!
Justin Thompson2024-10-23After moving to the area from downtown Charlotte, I was looking for a new home to train. After two unsuccessful attempts at other schools, the third time was the charm. Union Martial Arts is a fantastic place to train for both you or your family. The size of the gym, the cleanliness, the instructors and the over all atmosphere is the best I found in the area. Whether you’re looking to do kickboxing, MMA or Jiu Jitsu, I highly recommend stopping by for a class. I’m sure you’ll be as impressed as me and my family are.
All Union Martial Arts Jiu-Jitsu classes are led by an expert coach that will guide and motivate you every time you train. Our coaches make sure that you are getting an incredible workout, but that you’re also furthering your knowledge of Jiu-Jitsu techniques, principles, and strategies.
We have developed our own unique and structured curriculum that progresses systematically. It starts with fundamental techniques and concepts and gradually introduces more advanced techniques as students develop their skills. The curriculum covers all the various aspects of Jiu-Jitsu, including self-defense, positions, submissions, escapes, and transitions. In addition, we are strong believers in the constraints-led approach to coaching Jiu-Jitsu, which can often enhance and speed up the learning process for our students.
We constantly strive to create a friendly, supportive, professional and inclusive environment. Students of all levels and backgrounds are welcomed, and mutual respect among training partners is expected, creating a positive atmosphere conducive to learning and growth.
We know that the first step is often the hardest. Our coaches are here to support you every step of the way. Please give us a call and one of our friendly staff will help get you scheduled for a free trial class!
